Beau back in winning grooveHeadlines
Knockara Beau

George Charlton is eyeing a return trip to Kelso for Knockara Beau following his triumph at the Borders track on Saturday.

The smart chaser registered his first victory for the best part of two years with a fine display of front-running under Lucy Alexander and Kelso's Persimmon Homes Champion Chase on December 9 is his likely next port of call.

"He's certainly in good fettle. I think he thoroughly enjoyed himself on Saturday and it will do his confidence a lot of good," said Charlton.

"He's come down the weights a bit which has helped, as he's able to get into races against lesser horses. He just needed a confidence booster and that's what he got.

"There is another race for him at the next Kelso meeting. It's an open handicap so he'll get into that and then if all goes well, we can think about going back down south for some of the better races.

"He likes being able to enjoy himself out in front."
