Fergus Sweeney gets the job done on Miss Exhibitionist at Lingfield

Fergus Sweeney partnered Miss Exhibitionist to victory in the William Hill 'Flat Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle at Lingfield.

The filly (9-2) had finished second four times in her seven previous runs over timber without winning, but Sweeney got a great tune of her.

The jockey nursed the Alan King-trained four-year-old into contention as Kirsty Milczarek kicked on aboard Brendan Powell's Terra Bleu. He always looked confident and went clear to win by a length and a quarter.

"There's a lot of lead in the saddle but I had a willing partner," Sweeney told At The Races.

"I wouldn't say I was the key to her! Good placing by the trainer maybe. I knew he was the man to ring when this race came about and I've been in a few times (to ride work).

"I might keep going in, I've had a great buzz doing it, I really enjoyed it."

All nine horses and jockeys completed the course.
