Lingfield's National Hunt fixture on Tuesday is subject to a 7.30am inspection on raceday morning.
Clerk of the course Neil MacKenzie Ross said the meeting was "on a precipice" after assessing conditions for a second time at 2pm on Monday.
Further rain on Monday morning has compounded the situation.
Speaking on Monday afternoon, he said: "We will push forward until 7.30am in the morning. We would manage to race today, but we've had another four millimetres of rain this morning.
"It may well be get more rain overnight, too. We are on a precipice."
Tuesday's meeting at Sedgefield was abandoned due to a waterlogged track.
Clerk of the course Phil Tuck was forced to call an 8.30am inspection on Monday with areas of standing water on the track and more rain forecast today.
He said: "We have abandoned. It's still raining now and there are patches of standing water on the track."
