George expecting Module progressionHeadlines
Module

Tom George is excited about the future with his novice chase prospect Module.

The French import won on his debut in England over hurdles at Cheltenham last season and was in the process of making a winning start over fences when he fell at Exeter in October.

There were no such worries in a classy race at Newbury where he coasted round under Paddy Brennan, beating Colour Squadron by six lengths.

Module has been inserted in the betting for the Centenary Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival by William Hill but George thinks he will end up better than a handicapper.

"I was thrilled with his performance," said the Slad-based handler.

"He'll come on enormously for the run because he fell first time over fences.

"There are no concrete plans, I'd imagine he'll be out again in a couple of weeks.

"If I was to nominate a Cheltenham target at this stage I'd be looking at the Jewson more than anything else. I think we'll show our hand a bit more next time out and that could rule out handicaps.

"He's certainly an exciting horse, it looked a good race at Newbury, but Cheltenham is a long way off yet."
