Jewson on Argo agendaHeadlines
Argocat

Argocat has emerged as a fascinating contender for the Jewson Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

The Tom Taaffe-trained five-year-old has made a most accomplished start to his fencing career, culminating in an eight-length victory in a Grade Two on heavy ground at Limerick over Christmas.

"He put up a very good performance in Limerick and did what I expected of him. His jumping has been very good thus far and when he's doing everything the right way like that, you just hope he can keep on doing it," said County Kildare-based Taaffe.

"The obvious race is the Jewson - that's what he's been aimed at all along - but he'll also have entries in two other races so we can see where we are with the ground and so on.

"I've always said I think he'll be a better horse on better ground."
