Monday fixtures facing checksHeadlines
Racing at Kempton

Racing continues to be in the grip of the cold snap with both artificial and turf surfaces alike struggling to cope with the snowy conditions.

There was no racing in Britain and Ireland on Sunday and prospects for Monday hinge on inspections at Kempton and Wolverhampton.

Snow put paid to Kempton's card on Sunday and Monday's fixture is subject to an inspection at 9am. Officials at Wolverhampton will take a look at the track at 6.30am as a precaution.

With temperatures to remain below freezing in the West Midlands, and further snow forecast, track officials are taking no chances.

Wolverhampton's clerk of the course Fergus Cameron said: "We had snow on Friday and worked the track, which improved significantly on Saturday. It just seems sensible, given the situation, to check early morning."
