Stayers convene for classy CleeveHeadlines
Oscar Whisky

Several leading fancies for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle, including Oscar Whisky, are among 16 entries for the Rewards4Racing Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Trainer Nicky Henderson is keen to try the eight-year-old over three miles again as he felt Oscar Whisky was not right when fifth to Big Buck's in the stayers' championship last March. Oscar Whisky has won his three subsequent starts, including the Relkeel Hurdle over an extended two and a half miles on this track last month.

The Nick Williams-trained Reve de Sivola will bid to boost his World Hurdle credentials after taking the Long Walk Hurdle in great style at Ascot.

"Touch-wood, he's on course for the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham next Saturday," said his owner Paul Duffy.

"He did well at Ascot so hopefully we are going there."

Paul Nicholls has given Lexus Chase hero Tidal Bay an entry, along with Kauto Stone, while Mark Bradstock is also double-handed with 2011 Hennessy scorer Carruthers and smart novice hurdler Coneygree.

Peddlers Cross, trained by Donald McCain, could revert to the smaller obstacles in this race after a mixed campaign over fences last term. Alan King has put in both Walkon, runner-up in both the Paddy Power and Paul Stewart Charity Gold Cups, and Lovcen.

Others in a quality entry include Knockara Beau and Kentford Grey Lady.

The only Irish-trained entry is Mossley from Robbie Hennessy's stable.
