Kempton and Ayr to inspectHeadlines
Racing at snowy Kempton

Wednesday's meetings at Kempton Park and Ayr are subject to inspections on raceday morning.

Officials at the Sunbury circuit will assess conditions at 10am as up to four millimetres of snow has been forecast on Tuesday evening. The course's fixtures on Sunday and Monday were abandoned due to ice crystals on the surface of the track.

Officials at Ayr have called a precautionary inspection for 7.30am as frost is forecast tonight.

Clerk of the course Emma Marley said: "The temperature dropped to -0.5C last night after a maximum of 2C yesterday. We have had 1.5 millimetres of rain, sleet and snow over the past 24 hours. There is a light dusting, but there is no snow lying on the track.

"We are OK this morning, but we are forecast a sharp frost tonight and on that basis we have to inspect in the morning."

Wednesday's meeting at Limerick in Ireland is also subject to a precautionary inspection, at 8am. The track is raceable at present, but a cold night is expected.

Horse Racing Ireland tweeted: "Limerick to hold 8am precautionary inspection due to threat of overnight frost. Track currently raceable, ground heavy."
