Trainer Mark Bradstock is trying to keep on top of the weather as he looks to run Carruthers and Coneygree this weekend if possible.
The half-brothers have several tentative engagements, including on Saturday, and Bradstock is keen to get both horses on the track.
Coneygree has won his three novice hurdles in tremendous style so far and holds entries in the Neptune Management Investment Management Novices' Hurdle and the Rewards4Racing Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham, and also has the option of the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at Doncaster, should racing go ahead there.
Carruthers is also in the Cleeve, as well as the Sky Bet Handicap Chase on Town Moor.
"We are going to go where we can. Both horses are in good form," said Wantage-based Bradstock.
"If Coneygree goes for the novice at Cheltenham, he's got that nice horse of Nigel's (Twiston-Davies, The New One) to worry about."
Carruthers, whose finest hour came when he lifted the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury in November 2011, won his first race since then when successful at Ffos Las on Boxing Day.
"He's in the Cleeve Hurdle, he's in up at Doncaster in the Sky Bet Chase and there is a race for him at Ffos Las the following weekend," said the trainer.
"We will just weigh things up and see where we can go."
