Frankie Dettori said his stay in the Celebrity Big Brother house was "very challenging, emotionally".

Dettori was evicted by the public in a live double-header eviction on Wednesday ahead of Friday's Channel Five series finale.

The Italian rider entered the house just weeks after he was given a six-month ban from racing following a positive drugs test in Paris in September, which he said had left him feeling "ashamed and embarrassed".

But he told Big Brother host Brian Dowling he had not entered the house thinking he had something to prove.

Dettori said: "I came here because I always wanted to be here in the show and I never had the time to do it. But now I have done I really enjoyed it.

"I always try to be myself, whatever I do. What you saw these last few weeks, this is who I am. The house got to me at the end. There was a lot of friction. I'm a lover, not a fighter.

"It was very challenging, emotionally."
