Dettori: I'm missing racing so muchHeadlines
Frankie Dettori

Frankie Dettori is looking forward to getting back to normal life after his adventure in the Celebrity Big Brother house came to an end earlier this week.

Dettori was voted out by the public in a live double-header eviction on Wednesday before the Channel Five series came to an end on Friday, having entered the house just weeks after he was given a six-month ban from racing following a positive drugs test in Paris in September.

Dettori's suspension runs until May 19 and he plans to spend some time with his family before turning his attentions back to the racing game in early April.

Speaking on Channel 4 Racing's The Morning Line, the jockey said: "I've got to give some time to my family, so I'm going to stay around for a while and I'm going to go skiing.

"I'm going to stay away (from racing) until early April, as once I start watching races I'm going to start missing it. The later I leave it the better.

"That will give me a good six weeks from early April until May 20 to get fit, start riding out and getting contacts again.

"I've been married for 18 years to Godolphin and I'm not just going to jump straight into another relationship. I just want to find my feet, get my love of the game back and start afresh.

"I'm missing it so much. I'm missing the routine and missing being in the gym and training and the competition. This is the longest I've been without racing, but my love for the game is still there."
