William's Wishes is being treated for a hind leg injury that caused him to miss a clash with Sprinter Sacre in the Victor Chandler Chase at Cheltenham on Saturday.
Trainer Evan Williams reported the eight-year-old to be slightly improved on Sunday morning and was able to give the horse gentle exercise.
"He's a little bit better but he still isn't 100% right," said the Vale of Glamorgan handler.
"It's improved a bit. He has given himself a whack to a hind leg in his box at some stage. He was sore on Saturday, he's slightly better and he's on anti-inflammatories.
"He will still be able to have quiet work. It's not as though we have to stop with him, we can keep going quietly with him, so he's not going to miss much."
Williams's Wishes, who has won his last five races over fences, holds entries in the Queen Mother Champion Chase and the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
Williams said: "I'm not going to make a plan for him. We'll scan him when the inflammation is gone to make sure there is nothing untoward there.
"We will probably scan him at the end of he week."
