Fruity has Festival assignmentHeadlines
Fruity O'Rooney

Fruity O'Rooney will head back to Cheltenham for the Festival meeting as he bids to improve on last year's second in the JLT Specialty Handicap Chase.

Gary Moore's chaser ran another fine race at the weekend, chasing home possible Gold Cup contender Katenko in the Murphy Group Chase over two miles five furlongs.

It proved to Moore, however, that three miles is his trip, and a return to better ground will be in his favour come March.

The handler said: "He's been so consistent. I'm glad I ran him over the shorter trip as I was adamant that he had the pace for it, but even in that ground he was blatantly outpaced.

"He'll go back for the same race he ran in last year. The handicapper has left him alone so he'll be 1lb lower than when second last year, so you'd imagine he'll have a good chance."

Fruity O'Rooney is a general 16-1 chance to go one better than last year.
