Pandorama in National frameHeadlines
Pandorama

Three-time Grade One-winning chaser Pandorama has been given an entry in the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree in April.

Noel Meade's 10-year-old was well beaten on his first start in well over a year and a half in a thrilling renewal of the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown last month, but was subsequently found to have pulled a muscle.

Meade suggested afterwards his charge could take his chance at the highest level again in the Hennessy Gold Cup back at Leopardstown on Sunday week, but he is now set to be saved for the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse on February 23, a leading trial for the Grand National.

"He pulled a muscle when he ran in the Lexus, but he's fine now and back cantering," said Meade.

"He might run in the Hennessy, but at the moment I'd say it's unlikely as it might just come a bit too soon.

"It's more likely he'll run in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse next and I have given him an entry in the National.

"Whether he'll run in that or not I don't know at the moment. We'll see how he gets on next time."
