Alderwood in Dan Moore mixHeadlines
Alderwood

Tom Mullins is likely to run both Alderwood and Fosters Cross in the rearranged Dan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase at Punchestown on Sunday.

The County Kilkenny trainer also has Klepht in the race, transferred from Fairyhouse, but will look at a novice event for the eight-year-old, who was third to Farrells Fancy in the Leopardstown Chase on Saturday.

Mullins is most looking forward to giving Alderwood his first run in handicap company. The nine-year-old won the Grade One Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown and opened his account over fences at Navan recently.

"I'd say I'd run Alderwood and Fosters Cross but not Klepht," said the trainer.

"There are a lot of races for novices in the next couple of weeks so we'll put him on hold for a while.

"Alderwood is picking up all the time. He's come out of the race well and has come on a bit since.

"It will be his first handicap over fences and hopefully it will go smoothly."

Fosters Cross has an alternative engagement at Clonmel on Thursday but is set to accompany his stablemate at Punchestown.

"He's more likely to go to Punchestown rather than to Clonmel next week," said Mullins.
