Bolster team play it coolHeadlines
The Giant Bolster

The Giant Bolster has a couple of options this weekend as David Bridgwater is eager to get his stable star back in action.

The eight-year-old turned in a career-best effort when second in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last term and finished a creditable third in the Betfair Chase at Haydock on his seasonal bow. However, he was never really travelling when last seen in the King George VI Chase and was eventually pulled up before the third-last fence.

Bridgwater has entered him in Saturday's Betfair Denman Chase at Newbury, which has been reopened until Tuesday, but also put him in the two-and-a-half mile Warwick Racecourse Handicap Chase at Warwick on the same day.

"We will have a look at both races and make a decision," said the Gloucestershire handler.

"He's just had a bit of a stop-start season with the weather and he just wasn't quite right when he ran at Kempton so I just want to get him back on the track.

"I wouldn't be worried about a drop back in trip for him at Warwick.

"We'll go for whichever race we think he'll have the best chance in but Cheltenham is his main aim so I'm not really too bothered where he runs this weekend."
