Door not definite for CheltenhamHeadlines

Shutthefrontdoor is by no means certain to line up at the Cheltenham Festival, despite completing a hat-trick over hurdles at Carlisle on Wednesday.

The six-year-old enjoyed a battling half-length success over Ardkilly Witness in a qualifier for the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle.

The final of that staying contest is among several options, along with the Coral Cup, the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle and the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle. However, connections of the Jonjo O'Neill-trained gelding will not make a decision about Cheltenham until nearer the time.

"He did it well. He's a big baby and is learning all the time. It was nice that he won," said Frank Berry, racing manager to owner JP McManus.

"We'll see how he comes out of the race and take it from there.

"We'll what the ground is like and see when we get to that time.

"He wouldn't be a definite runner in any of the races there, but we will see how things are with him nearer the time."
