Katenko still in Kempton reckoningHeadlines
Katenko

Venetia Williams has not ruled out a crack at the Racing Plus Chase with Cheltenham hopeful Katenko.

The seven-year-old is viewed by many as a live outsider for the Betfred Gold Cup after wide-margin wins at both Sandown and Cheltenham last month.

He has been raised a total of 22lb by the handicapper for those victories, prompting Williams to consider a run in the Festival feature on March 15. However, Katenko could first line up at Kempton on February 23, with the gelding allotted 11st 1lb in the initial handicap.

When asked about a run, Williams said: "Possibly. Smart people say you put them away for Cheltenham, but if you run them you don't have to work their brains out at home."
