Derwin taken to hospitalHeadlines
Gary Derwin

Conditional jockey Gary Derwin was taken to hospital in Wrexham with a suspected fractured pelvis following a fall at Bangor-on-Dee.

The 7lb claimer sustained the injury in a tumble at the first flight from the Brian Eckley-trained Lucky Prince in the Excel Signs Handicap Hurdle.

"I was with him for about 10 minutes in the medical room at Bangor and he has a suspected fracture of the pelvis," said Eckley.

"They won't know for sure until it has been scanned and they were taking him to hospital in Wrexham. He's very cheerful and bright."
