Majala makes most of Fago exitHeadlines
Tom George

Majala just held on from His Excellency to complete a hat-trick in the Racing Post Arkle Trial Novices' Chase at Warwick.

Jason Maguire set out to make all on the Tom George-trained seven-year-old and victory looked assured when the favourite Fago came down at the second-last in the race better known as the Kingmaker.

However, Majala (2-1) tired in the ground and struggled to climb over the final fence, getting home with three-quarters of a length to spare as His Excellency came with a wet sail.

William Hill left Fago at 10-1 and Majala at 33-1 for the Racing Post Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham.
