Oscar Rock is only likely to head for the Weatherbys Champion Bumper if conditions are on the testing side.

Harry Fry's smart prospect added a Listed event at Newbury last Saturday to his previous victory at the Berkshire course, keeping up his young trainer's excellent run of form.

Speaking on his blog for StanJames.com, Fry said: "He showed them a clean pair of heels and the further he was going, the better he was looking. He will hold an entry for the Cheltenham bumper as if it came up very soft we'd have to seriously look at him taking his chance but, really, we think he's a horse for next year and beyond."

Fry added: "He's shown enough speed for us to think the Neptune - that's where we'd like to be aiming for in 12 months' time and it'd be very exciting if we can."
