Rocky up for Reynoldstown fightHeadlines
Rocky Creek

Rocky Creek aims to cement his place at the Cheltenham Festival when he lines up for the Sodexho Prestige Reynoldstown Novices' Chase at Ascot.

The Paul Nicholls-trained seven-year-old has made a promising start to his career over fences, getting within a length and a quarter of Harry Topper on his chasing debut before beating Molotof at Doncaster and following up in good style at Warwick.

"Whether he's good enough to beat Dynaste in the RSA I doubt, but I'm not rubbishing his form either. We're going to go for the RSA with him anyway," said co-owner Andy Stewart.

"If you look at the Molotof form it has been extremely well franked. Rocky Creek has won well since and Molotof hacked up at Warwick a few days ago. The form of Rocky Creek does look rock solid and there is no Dynaste in the race tomorrow."

Tour Des Champs fell at the second-last when in with a chance against Rocky Creek at Warwick and the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained six-year-old has since made amends at Ffos Las.

The trainer's jockey son Sam told At The Races: "He's done everything we've asked of him. He was probably a bit unlucky when falling at Warwick. He might have struggled to beat Rocky Creek that day, but he would definitely have given him a race."

Aidan Coleman teams up with Houblon Des Obeaux and expects the Venetia Williams-trained gelding to run his usual consistent race.

"He's been a model of consistency all season and ran a good race last time to come third in the Scilly Isles Novices' Chase," the jockey told www.racinguk.com.

"I think the extra distance of this three miles will suit and the slightly sounder surface will be in his favour as he's not a real mudlark."
