Joshua Moore is hoping to have a better idea of when he will return to action after undergoing shoulder surgery in the coming weeks.
The rider suffered a dislocated shoulder when Dashing George ran out in a veterans' chase at Doncaster last Wednesday and has since been told he will need an operation.
That mishap came just days after Moore notched the biggest win of his career when partnering Well Refreshed to victory for his trainer-father Gary in Haydock's Grand National Trial.
"I'm waiting for an operation and that should happen in the next couple of weeks - I just need to let it settle first," he said.
"There is some nerve damage there but that should heal itself. I'm not really sure how long I will be out, my doctor said he will know more once he's had a look inside.
"Sometimes when they open you up, they can see if there's more or less damage than first thought, so I will have a better idea after surgery.
"It is frustrating, but that's racing. These things happen and it's just unfortunate."
