Grand National-winning jockey Ben De Haan is still undecided whether to let his stable star Native Gallery take his chance at Cheltenham.

The eight-year-old has not been seen since winning in good style at Aintree in May and holds entries in the Coral Cup, County Hurdle and Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Hurdle.

However, De Haan is not that keen on letting him loose for the first time this season in the white-hot atmosphere of Cheltenham.

"He came out of his gallop at Kempton at the weekend very well and we were pleased with him," said De Haan.

"I've not discussed where we are going to go with his owners yet, so I can't give a definitive answer. He has the Cheltenham options or it could be Kempton and then Aintree.

"I'm not counting Cheltenham out, but it would be a very big ask after nearly a year off.

"I'd roughed him off for the summer and within five minutes of being turned out, he'd broken a bone at the back of his knee in a freak accident. He's totally fine now, though.

"There's a 0-145 at Kempton the Saturday after Cheltenham and then it could be the two-and-a-half-mile handicap at Aintree, but the owner might decide on Cheltenham."
